Miley Cyrus was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the latest Grammys edition. The Tennessee artist received her first Grammy after almost 20 years in the industry, taking home two golden gramophones for Pop Solo Performance and Record of the Year for her hit «Flowers.» However, what caught attention in her acceptance speech was the exclusion of her father, Billie Ray Cyrus.

The renowned country singer played a crucial role in Miley’s career development. He introduced Miley to the world of acting in 2001 during a Mirvish production of Mamma Mia!, sparking her interest in the craft. He also closely witnessed the tremendous success of Hannah Montana, co-starring in the Disney Channel series from 2006 to 2011 as her on-screen father, Robby Ray Stewart.

«This award is amazing, but I really hope that it doesn’t change anything because my life was beautiful yesterday. Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy but everyone in this world is spectacular. So, please don’t think that this is important, even though it’s very important to us”, the «Flowers» singer declared. “Everyone that’s standing on this stage right now — Tom, Tyler, Michael, and Greg. Any Issues Between Miley & Billie Ray Cyrus?

In 2022, Billie Ray Cyrus and Miley’s mother, Tish Cyrus, announced their divorce after 30 years of marriage and four children together. Billie then got engaged to the Australian singer Firerose, almost 30 years younger. Miley did not go to the wedding but did attend her mother’s marriage to Prison Break actor Dominic Purcell.

The reason is reportedly a strained relationship between Miley and her father after her parents’ divorce. An insider told E! News, «The divorce between her parents has put a strain on her relationship with her dad, and it’s been hard to connect with him in the last year. She hopes they can eventually work on their relationship.» Another source emphasized the good relationship between mother and daughter, stating, «Miley is very close with her mom and supportive of her.»
