When it comes to Spanish urban talents, we can’t miss mentioning Daniel Heredia Vidal, known internationally as Rels B, a singer, songwriter, and producer.
The emerging global artist was part of the lineup at the highly anticipated Vibra Urbana 2024 festival in Miami, but let’s tell you a bit more about him so you can get to know one of the genre’s great representatives firsthand.
Rels B (Palma de Mallorca, 1993) grew up in the Spanish Balearic Islands, and his story of emerging success within the Spanish-speaking hip-hop and trap scene is also a tale of overcoming challenges. Daniel left home at the age of 15 to work as a waiter and bricklayer.
«It was all for my father, actually. Parents back then… we know how they were. A super tense situation at home, very uncomfortable. Violent… my mother told me ‘go, and then I’ll go.’ She had to stay for family reasons. She stayed there for a couple of months, and then she came with me, with my grandmother,» the artist revealed in an interview with the Spanish podcast Nude Project.
Rels B started his musical career at an early age, primarily in production. He made his official debut with his first EP, «Change or Die,» in 2014, followed by his breakthrough in 2015 with «Player Hater.» In 2016, one of his major successes in Spain and Latin America came with «Tienes el Don,» and he also released his first album, «Boys Don’t Cry.»
The artist has positioned himself as one of the most sought-after urban performers, thanks to hits like «Lejos De Ti,» «EuroMillón,» «A Mí,» «Shorty Que te Vaya Bien,» or «Como Dormiste,» featuring the Argentine artist Lali Expósito in a viral music video. Recently, his collaboration with Spanish pop star Aitana in «miamor» has gained notable success.
