De La Rose is quickly becoming one of the rising stars in the urban music scene. You might not know her name yet, but chances are you’ve heard one of her songs, especially if you’re active on social media. She already has over 17 million monthly listeners on Spotify. But who exactly is De La Rose, where does she come from, and what makes her so popular?
Gabriela de la Rosa, known as De La Rose, was born in 2001 in Puerto Rico. She was surrounded by music from a young age, thanks to her mother’s love for 80s Anglo music, which had a significant influence on her. This early exposure inspired De La Rose to start writing songs in English.
Over time, she shifted to freestyle in Spanish. In 2019, she started posting covers of rappers like Juice WRLD and XXXTentacion on music platforms. But it was in 2021, with the release of her single ‘Harley,’ inspired by the DC Comics villain Harley Quinn, that she began to gain more attention.
This success led her to connect with the House of Haze management team, where she was able to collaborate with popular artists in the genre like Mora, Jay Wheeler, Luar La L, and Omar Courtz.
In July 2023, De La Rose, along with producer Haze, released the viral hit ‘Kyoto,’ which helped her gain more recognition. The two artists seemed to connect well in the studio, as they recently teamed up again for ‘¿QUEVAHACERHOY?’ The song went viral on TikTok and topped the charts, racking up over 150 million streams on Spotify and 33 million views on YouTube.

De La Rose also joined in on the popular remix of J Abdiel’s ‘WYA.’ While there were other versions, such as ‘Black And Yellow’ with Anuel AA and Blessd, ‘Blue’ with Corina Smith and Miky Woodz, and ‘White’ with Juhn, Slayter, and the Spanish artist Aleesha, it was the ‘Red’ remix, featuring De La Rose, Yan Block, and Jay Wheeler, that became the most successful. It has over 193 million views on YouTube and more than 150 million streams on Spotify.
Her latest project is her first collaboration with a Spanish artist, the Canary Islands native Quevedo. De La Rose is featured on his new album Buenas Noches, which also includes other popular artists like Aitana, Pitbull, Rels B, and Yung Beef.
Quevedo isn’t the only one who’s noticed De La Rose. Recently, Sech, while promoting his upcoming album Tranki, Todo Pasa, due for release on November 29, mentioned that De La Rose would be one of the collaborators on the project. “She’s a rising artist making waves. I really like her, I love her sound,” he said during an interview, adding that their upcoming track is ‘incredible.’
Gonzy also spoke highly of her, saying, “De La Rose is doing amazing things and really making an impact.” He also mentioned, “I’d love to work with her because I think we’d create something really special together.” Both artists are set to perform at the Share Festival 2025, which could be a great opportunity for them to collaborate on new music.
De La Rose has certainly created a unique sound that sets her apart in the music scene. With her sweet, captivating voice, she not only delivers standout quality but also conveys a sensual, magnetic energy—making it feel as if each word she sings is a whisper right to the listener’s ear.
With plenty of exciting things ahead, De La Rose is on track to become one of the top voices in urban music in the next few years. So, what do you think? Are you a fan of De La Rose?
