After the heartfelt celebrations of Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving, and the Macy’s Parade, it’s time to splurge with Black Friday! This year, the shopping extravaganza falls on November 29, marking the unofficial start of the holiday season.

Traditionally a single day of sales, it now extends into a multi-day shopping event, including Cyber Monday on December 2 and sometimes a week-long sale period dubbed «Cyber Week.» Deals often begin weeks earlier, with many retailers launching «Early Black Friday» promotions in mid-November.

Where to Find the Best Deals

At LOS40 USA, we’ve already shared some tips to make the most of Black Friday, but here we’ve compiled the most important ones for you!

1. Electronics:

Retailers like Best Buy, Amazon, and Walmart are the go-to options for discounted TVs, laptops, and gaming consoles. Look for “doorbuster” deals, which are often time-sensitive and offer significant discounts.

2. Fashion & Beauty:

Stores such as Nordstrom, Macy’s, and Sephora feature clothing and cosmetics sales. Many brands also offer site-wide discounts, especially during Cyber Monday.

3. Toys & Home Goods:

For toys, Target and Toys R Us (now online) typically offer competitive prices. Kitchen appliances, furniture, and bedding discounts are common at Wayfair, Home Depot, and Bed Bath & Beyond.

4. Local & Small Businesses:

Support smaller retailers during Small Business Saturday on November 30. Many offer personalized deals or unique items you won’t find at big-box stores.

Tips for Successful Shopping

1. Plan Ahead

Early preparation is key. Use retailer ads and deal previews, usually released in early November, to create a wish list. Apps like Flipp can consolidate local ads, while price-tracking tools such as CamelCamelCamel (for Amazon) and Honey can help verify whether a discount is genuine.

2. Shop Early Online

With most deals now available online, avoid crowded stores by shopping from home. Ensure you’re ready by creating retailer accounts, saving payment details, and enabling notifications for deal alerts. For popular items, be ready to refresh pages as soon as sales go live.

3. Focus on Big Savings

Electronics and appliances typically offer the largest discounts. However, for items like toys, clothes, or small gadgets, prices may not differ much from other holiday sales.

4. Use Rewards and Cashback

Maximize savings by combining retailer deals with cashback offers from credit cards or platforms like Rakuten. Some stores also allow stacking coupons on top of discounts.

5. Keep a Backup Plan

If an item sells out, try another retailer. Competitors often match deals. Additionally, revisit stores later, as popular items sometimes return in stock.

What About Cyber Monday?

Cyber Monday, focused on tech and online-exclusive discounts, is the digital counterpart to Black Friday. Many major retailers extend their Black Friday deals into this day, with some offering fresh discounts on laptops, smartphones, and software. Cyber Monday ensures a second chance to grab must-have items.

Black Friday 2024 promises abundant deals across all categories, but smart shopping is essential. Use tools, compare prices, and avoid impulse buys. If you miss out on a deal, Cyber Monday or subsequent holiday promotions may provide another opportunity. Above all, enjoy the shopping experience and save big on your wish list!
