The Viña del Mar International Song Festival, often just called Viña del Mar, is one of the most important and well-known music festivals in Latin America. It’s held every year in Viña del Mar, Chile. The event brings together both local and international artists from all kinds of music genres, including Latin, pop, rock, and folk.

Viña del Mar is important not only for its cultural and artistic significance. But also because it gives artists a chance to showcase their music on an international stage, which can help boost their careers throughout Latin America. Over the years, it has featured major music stars like Shakira, Luis Miguel, Ricky Martin, Juanes, and many others.

As the new edition of the festival gets closer, the list of artists is starting to be revealed. This week, seven artists have been confirmed, including Sebastián Yatra, Carlos Vives — who was recently named Person of the Year at the Latin Grammy Awards — Duki, who just released his album Ameri, and Marc Anthony. Ha*Ash, Myriam Hernández, and Bacilos have also been announced.

Lineup and Hosts

So far, the lineup features both American and Latin American groups and solo artists. However, many more names are still to be confirmed for the 64th edition of the festival. What we do know is that this year’s hosts will be Chilean TV presenters Karen Doggenweiler and Rafael Araneda, along with a team that includes Paola Volpato, Tita Ureta, Francisco Melo, José Antonio Neme, and Rodrigo Sepúlveda.

Last year, for example, Alejandro Sanz performed his hits live and was awarded the Silver and Gold Seagulls for his performance and career — marking his fifth appearance in the Chilean capital. Other big performances on the Quinta Vergara stage included Manuel Turizo, María Becerra, Trueno, Andrea Bocelli, Mora, Maná, and Anitta. In two days, the remaining artists will be announced.
