Bad news in the music world, especially for Karol G and her fans. After a complicated week in which the Colombian suffered an aircraft incident that forced her private jet to make an emergency landing in Los Angeles, a pregnant 31-year-old woman and two men aged 21 and 30 were shot and killed in Guatemala City after her show, just outside the venue where the music event took place. An evening that had started at the most beautiful concert in the world ended in a true tragedy.
The shooting took place in the early hours of this Sunday, and hours later, the main suspect was identified. Christian Aroldo Heinemann, 33, was arrested by the police, who confiscated a 9-millimeter pistol from him, even though he did not have a legal carry permit. The incident occurred just a few meters from the U.S. embassy and the venue where the Colombian singer had just performed her second concert.

The victims of the crime have also been identified: the two men were Gerson David Barrera and Ángel Estuardo Trujillo. Both attended Karol G’s concert and left their car with someone they had supposedly paid to watch over it (a common practice in the country to prevent theft). Upon reaching the vehicle, they found the windows broken and began arguing with the individual who would later pull out a gun and shoot them at close range, causing their deaths.
The pregnant woman was identified as Diana Yasmin Chinchilla, 31, who was hit by a stray bullet while on her way home with her two children, aged 2 and 11. The children needed psychological assistance after the incident.
During the show in Guatemala, the concert experienced an electrical failure, preventing several visual elements from unfolding as usual. «I don’t know what’s happening energetically, but whatever it is, I’m not going to let it get to me,» commented the artist.
«I know we have energy, at least, to use in the meantime with the band,» she continued explaining to the audience to prevent panic. «Let’s focus on why we’re here: to sing,» expressed the artist amid cheers from the audience.
