On September 6, Marc Jacobs and Highsnobiety had plenty to celebrate at The Standard Hotel in New York: the opening of the magazine’s pop-up at The Standard High Line, the farewell of its editor-in-chief, Willa Bennett, and the kickoff of New York Fashion Week.
An event, of course, packed with stars, where you could spot personalities like Hayley Williams and Offset, among other entertainment and internet figures. Everything seemed to be going perfectly. Spanish urban music star Bad Gyal (real name, Alba Farelo), one of the most-listened-to artists in her country, gave a special performance at the bar, singing hits like ‘Guay,’ her explosive collaboration with reggaeton icon Ozuna.
However, at some point during the night, things took a turn. A clip has gone viral on social media that seems to show Bad Gyal in a heated argument with Bb Trickz, a well-known and controversial up-and-coming artist in Spain.
The clip shows the two in what appears to be a heated confrontation. Bad Gyal, on the right, is seen pointing her finger at her fellow artist in an apparently accusatory manner. Along with the video, audio has surfaced where Bad Gyal’s alleged voice can be heard saying, “what you say in your songs, say it to my face.”

This may stem from Bb Trickz’s reputation as a controversial figure known for mocking other artists (mostly Spanish or Latin) in her songs. In fact, Bb Trickz revealed in an interview that “Bad Gyal’s fans hate her.” The reason being one of her lyrics, where she says, “I’m talking about you, Bad Gyal, you think you’re all that, but you dance badly.” This might have offended the Catalan diva, known for her dancehall-inspired dance moves.

It’s worth noting that neither of them has commented on the incident yet. What is clear is that social media has taken sides, fiercely defending Bad Gyal.
