We all know that it’s crucial to keep a backup of our mobile phones. You never know when it might break, get damaged, or even be stolen. The latter is what happened to Maluma, who, outraged, shared the story of his recent theft through his Instagram Stories.
The artist made his frustration clear, explaining that he was visiting the Dos Aguas horse breeding farm in Antioquia, Colombia, when an unknown person approached him, reached into his pocket, grabbed his phone, and ran off. «I was going to make a scene, but then I kind of changed my mind,» he says.
But that’s not all. Maluma’s frustration is compounded by the fact that he hasn’t been able to recover the backup of his device, so all his photos, videos, and passwords have been lost, leaving him to «start from scratch.»

In response to the incident, social media has been flooded with comments from various users. «They steal from him, who’s local; what can you expect from a tourist?» says one follower. «It really sucks to start over like this without your contacts or anything,» adds another.
What’s clear is that the ‘Coco Loco’ signer won’t have any trouble buying a new phone, but no one will be able to help him recover the memories stored on his previous device. Regardless, he’s already accepted that he won’t get them back and will now have to start anew.
Have you ever lost all the photos and videos on your mobile phone?
