Stranger Things has always taken its time between seasons, and the fifth and final season is no exception. The Duffer brothers want everything to be perfect for the series that brought them fame.

But the secrecy can’t last forever. The cast of Stranger Things has other projects, and during their promotion, they are often asked about the Netflix series. In an interview for the podcast Podcrushed, hosted by Penn Badgley (You), Nava Kavelin, and Sophie Ansari, Maya Hawke, the actress who plays Robin, shared some details about the final season of the series.

“The ending of Stranger Things has been a bit cursed. First, the pandemic hit just as we were starting season 4. Then, the SAG-AFTRA actors’ and writers’ strike happened just as we began this season. But we are very lucky with our showrunners; they are very involved in everything,” said Maya Hawke, the actress who plays Robin. She explained that they are very careful with the script continuity, which is why it has taken so long to write this final season.“It also takes a long time to film because, basically, it’s like shooting eight movies. The episodes are very long,” Maya confessed. The actress is in Atlanta with the rest of the cast, where they are still filming the episodes. “It’s taking us a year to shoot the series. But at first, there is a lot of waiting time between shooting one scene and getting back to it,” she explained.We remember that the longest episode of the previous season was 139 minutes long.
