Shakira in the Studio with One of Her ‘Favorite People’: Who Is It?

A new hit is on the way, but there are still few details

Shakira isn’t taking a break. The Colombian singer is on fire with her music career and isn’t willing to let go of the great momentum she’s experiencing in the industry following her divorce. She’s back in the studio working on her next hits.

And she’s not alone; she’s with someone important to her. She didn’t hesitate to share a photo with one of her favorite producers: “In the studio with one of my favorite people in the business, AC!”

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen her with this young producer, and it won’t be the last. Alexander Castillo is a real talent in his field, boasting 45 platinum records and 11 Grammy nominations.

Alex’s Career

His trajectory includes hits like ‘Me Enamoré,’ ‘Toneladas,’ ‘Amarillo,’ and ‘Perro Fiel’ from Shakira’s El Dorado (2017). The Dominican also handled the musical aspects of Shakira’s Super Bowl performance. He’s also worked with Ricky Martin, Maluma, Pitbull, and Becky G, among others. But his work isn’t limited to Latin artists.

He’s contributed to tracks like ‘Trini Dem Girls’ by Nicki Minaj and ‘Been You’ and ‘Get Used to It’ from Justin Bieber’s Purpose album, which have also gone platinum. He’s also worked with Selena Gomez and Ke$ha.

AC was born in Montreal, Canada, but has a Dominican father and a Colombian mother. He works in Los Angeles under contract with Sony Music International but splits his time between Santo Domingo and Miami.

What’s Coming

Neither Shakira nor AC has given any hints about what they’re creating in the studio, but given their history, it’s likely to be another hit for the Colombian star. Fans are eager for new material, which is sure to keep people talking.

Since her appearance at the Copa América, we haven’t seen much of her except for a few advertising campaigns. It’s clear she’s preparing for a big fall and end-of-year comeback. Bizarrap has already shared a flame emoji in response to this exciting news.
