Shakira gave her U.S. fans quite a shock when, after announcing her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour and selling out shows, all her U.S. dates were suddenly canceled. The concerts were originally set between November 9 and December 15. So, what happened?

In other countries like Mexico, Shakira will be performing at GNP Stadium, which holds 65,000 people. So far, she’s sold out four shows and even added another one. The demand for tickets has been sky-high! Shakira mentioned that it exceeded all her expectations. Because of this huge demand, her U.S. dates have been temporarily canceled and will be rescheduled. The new dates will be announced on October 21, 2024.

Shakira broke the news on her Instagram, saying: “As live nation communicated earlier, the demand for tickets and more shows has reached the point that our tour now requires stadiums in the US and more dates so I can see as many of you as possible […] As a result, we’re elevating my north america run from arenas to stadiums and the dates will be shifted to may 2025, right after my latin american tour. Get ready-cities and dates will be announced on Monday!

So, this isn’t really bad news—the ‘Soltera’ singer is simply preparing to perform in larger venues so more people can experience her tour. The artist also expressed her gratitude to her fans for their support and understanding. “I know many of you made big efforts to be a part of these shows. Thank you so much for supporting me through this. Your understanding and love means the world to me and helps me to continue breaking barriers.
