Rosalía is making us impatiently wait for her fourth studio album. The artist has mentioned several times that she prefers to follow her own pace, avoiding today’s culture of hyper-consumption. And now, the creator of Motomami (2022) has teased a song that might give us more clues about her upcoming studio work.
On Sunday, September 22, Rosalía directly asked her fans via her WhatsApp channel, «What would you think if I released a song like this?» She then sent an audio recording, singing an a cappella verse from what will be her next song:
«Tú y yo perdíos entre amapolas. Tus ojos brillan, son dos pistolas. Las lenguas se abrazan, ya no estás solas. En la memoria me has disparao,» («You and I, lost among poppies. Your eyes shine, they’re two pistols. Our tongues embrace, no longer alone. You’ve shot me in my memory»), goes the verse she shared with us.

On another note, the poppy is a flower with special meaning to Rosalía, and it has been worn on different occasions by both The Bear actor Jeremy Allen White, who is rumored to be in a relationship with the singer, and reggaeton artist Rauw Alejandro, Rosalía’s former fiancé.
The actor wore it as a lapel pin at the Critics Choice Awards earlier this year—the same one the singer wore at the Latin Grammys in 2022. Both were poppy pins made of sterling silver and red silk, although Rauw’s was set with diamonds. Both were from Tiffany & Co.
It’s possible this has nothing to do with her new song… or maybe it does. The truth is, we enjoy finding connections. And until Rosalía reveals more details about her new work, our imagination is running wild, creating possible links.
What seems certain is that the more romantic side of Rosalía is on its way. One thing is clear: the anticipation for her new work is intense, and this brief teaser, which takes us back to the vibes of El Mal Querer, only heightens the excitement for what’s to come.
