Nicki Nicole is one of the urban artists who has gained significant international success in recent years. She recently announced her new album, Naiki, which marks the start of a new musical era for her. In this album, Nicki shared that it’s a return to her musical roots, where trap and rap were the main elements.

Naiki, her fourth album, will be released this Friday, November 22. The tracklist includes nine songs, two of which are collaborations, while another two are tracks we’ve already heard. The first preview was ‘Forty,’ and the second is ‘Sheite,’ a hip-hop-inspired track with a music video that brings to mind the ‘Wapo Traketero’ that introduced Nicki to the world in 2019. However, this time, she’s seen riding a bike through the streets with more confidence and maturity.

One of the big questions from fans is the meaning behind ‘Sheite.’ The term is actually Yeite, but Nicki uses her Argentine accent in the title. According to Significado De, the word yeite refers to a trick or the ‘ability to solve a problem.’ It comes from lunfardo, the slang originally used by the working class in Buenos Aires. In the song, Nicki talks about vulnerability and strength, making it an anthem of resilience and determination to keep moving forward.

‘Sheite’ English Lyrics

[Intro]

Oh, look what you’ve done to me
Okay, eh, eh, eh
Uh, since you’re not here, nothing is the same
What we had was real, only you

[Verse 1]

Alone and crazy, looking for you around the area, baby
Desperate to return to your lips, baby
Fake gangsters who hit me up on the phone, baby
With millions to count, I still miss you, baby
Oh, I heard you’re with some girl
Who’s getting frustrated when she sees me on your search bar
Explain to her that what we had is historic
And that trying to be like me isn’t so easy, no

[Chorus]

I just want to bring you back into my life
Tell pride it’s over
That boy has the trick that represents me
Come put out this fire
I just want to bring you back into my life
Tell pride it’s over
That boy has the trick that represents me
Come put out this fire

[Verse 2]

You know that between the smoke, we’re one
No one’s like you, and there’s no one like me
If they compare, I’ll take them out one by one
Those girls are on shift, they want your money
Pa-pa, put out the fire, let the firefighters come
My body’s on fire from your real flow
That guy has a trick that money can’t buy, hey!

[Chorus]

I just want to bring you back into my life
Tell pride it’s over
That boy has the trick that represents me
Come put out this fire
I just want to bring you back into my life (Ah-ah)
Tell pride it’s over
That boy has the trick that represents me
Come put out this fire
