The members of Grupo Frontera are celebrating a big milestone. On May 10th, they released their latest album, Jugando a Que No Pasa Nada (Pretending Nothing’s Wrong). This release follows their previous album El Comienzo and continues their efforts to bring Mexican regional music to a global audience.
Having previously collaborated with big names like Bad Bunny, Shakira, and Manuel Turizo, they’ve now teamed up with other prominent figures in the Spanish music industry, making it clear that they are a sought-after group for collaborations.
For their new album, Grupo Frontera worked with Maluma, Nicki Nicole, Morat, and Christian Nodal—four powerhouses of Latin music today. The collaborations have resulted in some truly standout tracks. With Maluma, they created «POR QUÉ SERÁ?» (Why Could It Be?), a ranchera that reflects on why relationships often end badly. Grupo Frontera excels at crafting songs about love gone wrong, and Maluma fits perfectly into this musical style, demonstrating his strong affinity for the genre.
I wish I could go back to the day we met
So I wouldn’t go
I wish there was a button to turn off feelings
To not suffer so much, to not suffer anymore
Why is it that when I want to love, they want to play games with me?
Whenever I want something
And I start to get my hopes up, it ends up being a failure
Another love shattered into pieces
Thinking about it
I was born to love the one who doesn’t love me
And that hurts
Why is it that when I want to love, they want to play games with me?
Whenever I want something
And I start to get my hopes up, it ends up being a failure
Another love shattered into pieces
Thinking about it
I was born to love the one who doesn’t love me
And that hurts
I wish I didn’t love you and that you loved me
So you’d feel what I feel and it would hurt you just the same
Why do you treat me this way? I loved you sincerely
What happened to you? What changed? You weren’t like this before
Since when am I surplus in your heart?
When in mine you were in charge
I thought you loved me
Why is it that when I want to love, they want to play games with me?
Whenever I want something
And I start to get my hopes up, it ends up being a failure
Another love shattered into pieces
Thinking about it
I was born to love the one who doesn’t love me
And that hurts
Why is it that when I want to love, they want to play games with me?
Whenever I want something
And I start to get my hopes up, it ends up being a failure
Another love shattered into pieces
Thinking about it
I was born to love the one who doesn’t love me
And that hurts.
