Coachella 2024 is just around the corner! And this year we’ll have a highly anticipated edition taking place over two different weekends (April 12-14 and 19-21) at the desert, with huge headliners like Lana del Rey, Tyler The Creat0or, and Doja Cat.
Moreover, the big celebration will even feature the participation of more than 20 Latin and Spanish-speaking artists, including Peso Pluma, Young Miko and J Balvin.
In LOS40 USA, we believe that this significant presence of Hispanic representation is not a coincidence, but rather real proof of the rise of Latin music in our country and worldwide. That’s why this is the perfect moment to recall some of the most iconic performances of our Latin stars at Coachella Valley in the last years. Let’s begin!
At the start of his iconic performance, last year Bad Bunny paid tribute to all the artists who had performed at Coachella in the last two decades. He also remembered that, in all this time, there has not been another artist like him and all that he represents: the incredible success of reggaeton at a global level.
‘El conejo malo’ soon set the scene on fire with his arrival singing some of the hits that have catapulted him to a great success worldwide, like ‘Tití Me Preguntó’, ‘Moscow Mule’, ‘La Difícil’, ‘Yo Perreo Sola’, ‘Safaera’ and even older remixes as 2018’s ‘Te Boté‘.
The Puerto Rican even invited great musical guests such as Ñengo Flow, Jowell y Randy, Post Malone and Jhay Cortez ‘Jhayco’. The Puerto Rican artist showed one more time why he is the present of reggaeton, putting on an incredible dazzling show.
Becky G made an awaited comeback in a chic electric blue outfit and lit up the stage with her hits like ‘Shower’, ‘Mayores’, ‘Bailé con mi ex’, and ‘Fulanito’, among others.
The Latin diva also brought several big names from the genre to the stage, performing ‘Chanel’ with rising regional Mexican star Peso Pluma and ‘Sin Pijama’ with the legendary Natti Natasha. Additionally, she invited Marca MP and Jesus Ortiz Paz from Fuerza Regida to perform.
This wasn’t Becky’s first time in the desert; she had previously surprised the audience by appearing at Karol G’s Coachella debut and performing their explosive ‘MAMIII’. The crowd went wild as it was the first time they had sung the collaboration together live. Becky and Karol triumphed with their ‘perreo’.
Rosalía once again proved why she is one of the biggest performers in the scene with her dynamic and astonishing Coachella last year.
The Motomami delivered a spectacular show, opening her performance with an electrifying rendition of her track ‘Saoko’ from the Motomami album. She continued to sing her popular hits like ‘Despechá’ and ‘La Fama’, and even performed a cover of Enrique Iglesias’ ‘Hero’.
The Colombian artist gave a stellar performance with her amazing reggaeton set.
In her first year in Coachella, Karol G paid tribute to iconic figures of Latin music culture singing Selena Quintanilla’s ‘Como La Flor’ and Celia Cruz’s ‘La Vida Es un Carnaval’, and also some contemporary hits like Shakira’s ‘Hips Don’t Lie’, Ricky Martin’s ‘María’, Daddy Yankee’s ‘Gasolina’ and J Balvin’s ‘Mi Gente’, making history with a great dynamic show that surely made every Latino proud. She also invited Becky G and J Balvin to join her in the stage.
“For those who don’t know me, I’m J. Balvin from Medellín, Colombia. And I’m proud of being Latino”. After his debut in ‘Beychella’ as the surprise guest star of Queen B singing ‘Mi Gente’, J Balvin threw an incredible and colorful show honoring some of the most popular reggaeton hits.
Of course, Daddy Yankee’s ‘Gasolina’ was one of the most epic moments, but also his performance of ‘Con Altura’ with Rosalía, and also ‘I like it’, ‘Ginza’ or even Wisin y Yandel’s ‘Rakata’ tribute.
Anitta made history in 2022 as the first-ever Brazilian solo artist to perform on Coachella’s main stage.
The «Bellakeo» singer threw an extraordinary show with several outfit changes, including outfits in the blue, green, and yellow colors of the Brazilian flag. Her unique essence, roots, and culture were central to her breathtaking set.
Anitta also brought out some big names in the industry, including rapper Snoop Dogg, Saweetie, and Diplo. Anitta delivered memorable performances of ‘Me Gusta’, ‘Machika’, ‘Girl From Rio’, and ‘Boys Don’t Cry’.
The Argentine trap queen made her debut at Coachella’s Sonora stage, performing some of her biggest singles such as ‘Colocao’, ‘Baby’, and ‘Wapo Traquetero’. She also expressed her gratitude to her fans and the audience for attending her first show in the US.
«Thank you very much to all the people who are present. To those who do not know me, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. This is very important for me, and I would also like to thank the people from Argentina who are here. A round of applause for you,» Nicole told her audience during her long-awaited performance.
Nathy Peluso brought all of her energy to the Sonora Tent, singing top songs like ‘Mafiosa’, ‘Buenos Aires’, ‘Celebré’, and even her ‘BZR Music Sessions #36’, her collaboration with Bizarrap with a rock-like touch added to it.
“I’ve been working hard on this show. It’s important to me to share the music. I arranged the songs with my band, and we really want to share good music with the people. I worked hard to be here. So, I’m like, ‘Yes, now I’m here’,” she said in a Billboard interview prior to her iconic performance. She also brought the salsa with some improvised rhythms influenced by flamenco and Latin music.
