Speculation arises about a talk between them at the ceremony

We’ve all taken advantage of some social gathering to gossip about the juiciest details with our friends. But it wasn’t at the Golden Globes, and we’re not Selena Gomez (31) and Taylor Swift (34), of course.

A big stir has occurred after the celebration of the 81st edition of the awards, as social media is ablaze with one of the night’s moments: a very friendly chat between the two artists, who have been close friends for several years (since 2008, according to various sources, when Gomez was supposedly dating Nick Jonas and Swift was with his brother Joe).

This talked-about moment would have linked to another highly sought-after socialite in Hollywood, none other than the youngest of the Kardashian clan, Kylie Jenner (26) herself. Remember that Gomez and Jenner have a -supposed- feud discussed and analyzed by a considerable number of media outlets, so the mentioned clip from the Golden Globes is worth analyzing with this in mind.

Selena’s Words to Taylor Swift at the Golden Globes

In the video that captures -fortunately or unfortunately- the conversation between Swift and Gomez, we can see both artists with a third person, actress Keleigh Sperry (31), who attended the ceremony with Taylor. In fact, it’s Sperry’s reaction that causes the frenzy. Several accounts on social media speculate that the conversation went as follows:

«I asked for a picture with him, and she [allegedly referring to Kylie Jenner] said no,» Selena Gomez said.

«With Timothée [Chalamet]?» Sperry asked, referring to Jenner’s current partner, to which Selena responded affirmatively in response to her friends’ reactions, who are more than astonished.

And why is all this relevant? Well, if we go back in time, we can only consider the countless controversies that have surrounded Gomez since her breakup with Justin Bieber (29) (they had an intense but intermittent relationship from 2011 to 2018), who also became involved with Hailey Bieber (27) from 2015, getting engaged a year later and marrying in 2018. Since then, the media and the public have tried to identify numerous feuds between Selena and Hailey’s circle, prominently the Kardashians.

However, if we stick to certainties, Selena Gomez’s words are inaudible, and they are fan assumptions on social media. Nevertheless, Sperry’s response is clear, saying, «With Thimothée?» And I don’t know about you, but we don’t hear too many Thimothées other than Chalamet. Taking this into account, Jenner’s connection would once again be called into question, as in previous controversies.
