Karol G has had a hugely successful 2023 and 2024 following the release of her iconic album Mañana Será Bonito. With this studio work, she’s achieved several milestones, including being the first female artist with a Spanish-language album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, becoming the first Latina to headline a worldwide stadium tour, breaking sales, earning Guinness World Records, and collaborating with stars like Shakira.
Now, after a months-long world tour, it seems that la Bichota is going to take a temporary break from performing. She shared the news after her vibrant show at Rock in Rio festival in Brazil through her Telegram channel, where she has over 77,000 followers.
«I love you all, really, thank you so much. That day [at Rock in Rio], I couldn’t share more with you because, well, with the show going on and everything… Plus, I was super nervous. My heart was racing the entire time. That was the last show of the year,» wrote the Medellín-born artist on her channel, confirming that there will be a period when we won’t see her performing live.

The reggaeton star got over 100,000 people dancing during her energetic show, where she performed some of her biggest hits like ‘Tusa,’ ‘Amargura,’ ‘Bichota,’ ‘OKI DOKI,’ and ‘Contigo,’ among others. Taking advantage of the festival’s location and her love for Brazil, she decided to pay tribute to the country by incorporating carioca funk and afrobeat rhythms, as well as a samba performance in honor of singer-songwriter Sergio Mendes.
After the show, and confirming a shift in her artistic journey, Karol took the time to thank her fans once again. «Thank you for being so loyal to me. I never take that love for granted, and every day I’m more surprised by all the things you’re willing to do for me,» Karol added on her Telegram channel. «Thank you to the fan club from Chile who showed up in Brazil, thank you all for the support, thank you for believing in me… infinite thanks for your prayers as well and for making each release, show, and moment special over the past year,» the «Bichota» concluded.
Without a doubt, Karol has more than earned this well-deserved break from the stage. It seems like a justified decision rooted in the closing of the Mañana Será Bonito era, which has lasted nearly two years, encompassing two albums, dozens of awards, and nearly a hundred shows and performances around the world.
So, what will be the next adventure for la Bichota? We’ll just have to wait to find out!
