Hunter Schafer, the actress that rose to fame after her role as Jules in the popular HBO teen drama series ‘Euphoria,’ was arrested on Monday, February 26th, along with nearly 50 other protesters. They were participating in a demonstration at 30 Rock in New York, the NBC headquarters, taking advantage of President Joe Biden’s presence while he recorded his appearance on Seth Meyers’ Late Night.

The actress and model, who was recently spotted in a highly anticipated ‘Euphoria’ reunion with co-star Zendaya, appeared in various images being arrested and escorted by NYPD officers, wearing a shirt that reads «Ceasefire Now.» The protest was organized by the Jewish Voice for Peace NYC, a group of Jewish individuals advocating for collective liberation from New York to Palestine.

According to the protest manifesto in which Hunter participated, Biden’s foreign policy «has funded and fueled the genocide in Gaza.» The protest urged Biden to «listen to Americans rather than the far-right Israeli government, accused of indiscriminate bombing in Gaza, destroying 70% of its infrastructure, including hospitals, universities, electricity, and water supplies.»

Biden Teases a Possible Ceasefire

During the Rockefeller protest, Joe Biden, in an ironic scene at an ice cream shop with Late Night host Seth Meyers, hinted at a potential ceasefire in the coming days. Biden stated that he hoped for a temporary pause by the end of the weekend, addressing the situation in Gaza.

@msnbc President Joe Biden tells reporters that he hopes there will be a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war by next week. «My national security advisor tells me that we’re close, close but not done yet,» he said. «My hope is by next Monday we’ll have a cease-fire,» the president added. #fyp #foryou #politics #politicaltiktok #biden #ceasefire ♬ original sound – MSNBC
