From Måneskin to Solo Star: Damiano David Prepares for His Debut

He’s swapped his iconic rockstar style for a more polished, crooner-inspired look

Måneskin has put its members in the spotlight—in the best way possible—, and now they’re using that moment to take a breath and launch their solo projects. Victoria D’Angelis, the band’s bassist, was the first to step out, becoming a DJ and releasing a song with Anitta. Now, it’s Damiano David’s turn, as he prepares for his solo debut.

‘Silverlines’ is the track chosen to introduce the Måneskin vocalist’s solo career. It’s set to drop on September 27 and features a collaboration with Labrinth. The English singer-songwriter—best known for All For Us with Zendaya—produced the single, which, from the first listen, has epic vibes and powerful choruses, very much in Labrinth’s signature style.

With this debut, Damiano David wants to show a more personal and vulnerable side of himself, something he hasn’t shared with the world before. “In my life, I’ve been a thief, a liar, a lover, and a shapeshifter. I traveled the world to find my voice, only to end up where it all started,” he wrote on social media. “My name is Damiano David, and today is the first day of my life.”

A Fresh Look

Now that Måneskin is taking a break, Damiano David has been preparing for this release for weeks, leaving behind the rebellious rocker image we’re used to seeing and embracing a more refined, crooner-inspired look. He’s been spotted with a mustache, a classic suit, and short, slicked-back hair. He first showed off this new style at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards and in the previews for the Silverlines music video.

Damiano’s Meteoric Rise

Damiano David has come a long way, from the streets of Rome to becoming one of the biggest breakout stars on the global music scene. As the lead vocalist of Måneskin, he has garnered widespread critical acclaim, particularly after winning both the Sanremo Music Festival and the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest with his band.

He is known for his magnetic stage presence and distinctive voice, two qualities that have been instrumental in Måneskin’s rise to becoming the first Italian band to achieve unprecedented worldwide success.
