Diddy Tupac

Was Tupac Another Victim of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs?

The rapper's family has launched a new investigation nearly 30 years later

Diddy has unexpectedly become the center of attention. Since his arrest on September 16th, he’s been linked to various controversial cases. While he waits for his trial, which will determine whether he’s the head of a criminal group involved in human trafficking and responsible for multiple sexual assaults, more and more potential victims are coming forward. There are even new questions about past events, like the death of his ex-partner, Kim Porter.

People immediately thought of Justin Bieber, and now the list of possible connections is growing, with Tupac Shakur being brought up as well. You’ve probably seen or even bought a T-shirt with Tupac’s face on it. After his murder, he became a legend that many still admire today.

On September 7, 1996, Tupac was shot multiple times and passed away on September 13. That night, he had gone to a Mike Tyson boxing match at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas with Suge Knight.

After the fight, they got into a confrontation with a rival gang, the Crips. Later, Tupac met up with his partner but decided to go out to a club to keep the night going. Sadly, he never made it—he was shot from a car that pulled up next to his.

An Ongoing Investigation

Nearly 30 years later, the investigation into this case is still ongoing. Some theories suggest that Diddy paid Orlando ‘Baby Lane’ Anderson, a member of the Southside Crips gang, to have both Tupac and Suge Knight killed. The motive might have been the fierce rivalry between East Coast and West Coast rappers in the U.S. at the time.

Duane ‘Keefe D’ Davis, Anderson’s uncle and leader of the gang, shared in his memoirs that he was in the white Cadillac from which Tupac was shot. He’s been investigated by the DEA and the U.S. Department of Justice. Last year, Davis testified, claiming that Diddy had offered him a million dollars to carry out the murders. He is now awaiting trial next year.

Additionally, several investigators who have followed the case believe Diddy was involved, motivated by revenge. Diddy was a close friend of Notorious B.I.G., Tupac’s major rival, who was also murdered.

New Lawyer for the Family

Tupac’s family has taken action, and with recent developments, they’ve hired Alex Spiro to look into the alleged connection between the rapper’s death and Puff Daddy. Spiro is a well-known lawyer who also handled the high-profile case involving Alec Baldwin and the on-set shooting.

It seems like this case is far from over, and what we’ve seen so far might just be the beginning. We’ll have to see who else gets caught up in it, including Beyoncé, who’s been facing backlash for her friendship with the accused.
