The tension during the filming of It Ends With Us has boiled over into legal action. Blake Lively has filed a lawsuit against her co-star and director Justin Baldoni, accusing him of ‘sexual harassment’ and launching a campaign to ‘ruin her reputation.’ This move confirms the long-standing rumors of a difficult working relationship between the two.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Lively claims Baldoni caused her ‘severe emotional distress’ with his behavior on set. The film, based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel, hit theaters in August, already clouded by reports of conflict between the leading actors.

According to the lawsuit obtained by this outlet, tensions escalated so severely during filming that an urgent meeting was held to address what Blake Lively describes as a hostile work environment. The lawsuit outlines several demands made by Lively in response to Baldoni’s alleged behavior. These included:

  • Not showing explicit videos to her.
  • Avoiding discussions about Baldoni’s past “pornography addiction.”
  • Refraining from talking about sexual experiences around her.
  • Not referencing the genitalia of cast and crew members.
  • Steering clear of comments about her weight.
  • Ceasing any remarks about her late father.

This legal battle highlights the tension that reportedly plagued the production and raises important conversations about respect and professionalism in the workplace. With the case now in court, all eyes will be on how it unfolds.

Blake Lively requested that no additional intimate scenes be shot on set. This agreement reportedly came during a meeting with Sony Pictures executives, the film’s distributor. Ryan Reynolds, Lively’s husband and a well-known actor, also attended the meeting. The couple shares four children.

“I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct,” Lively told The New York Times after filing her lawsuit. “And helps protect others who may be targeted,” she continued.
