The latest Forbes list of the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women highlights three music icons: Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, and Rihanna. These global superstars have not only made a lasting impact on the music industry but also extended their influence into business, fashion, and philanthropy, securing their places among the world’s most powerful women.

Taylor Swift had an incredible year, earning Time’s Person of the Year title in 2023. Her record-breaking Eras Tour set new box-office records, while she released several successful albums, including The Tortured Poets Department. Swift also continued re-recording her old albums—a bold move inspired by her former label selling her master recordings to a long-time industry rival.

Despite leading the highest-grossing tour in music history, The Eras Tour, Swift dropped 18 spots on this year’s Forbes list compared to last year, when she made history by landing in the Top 5 Most Powerful Women ranking.

Their Enduring Influence Recognized by Forbes

Beyoncé has been named Billboard’s Greatest Pop Star of the 21st Century, honoring her incredible impact and evolution over her 25-year career. Her latest album Cowboy Carter and its hit single Texas Hold ‘Em received critical praise, proving her talent for reinvention and musical exploration. Beyond music, Beyoncé is a vocal advocate for civil rights and gender equality, using her platform to inspire social change.

While Taylor Swift dropped a few spots, Queen B managed to climb one spot on Forbes’ Top 100 Most Powerful Women of 2024, landing at #35.

Rihanna, meanwhile, has expanded her influence far beyond the music industry, becoming a powerhouse entrepreneur with her brands Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty. Her work has reshaped the fashion and beauty world, redefining lingerie and setting new standards for inclusivity and style. Even after a decade without new music, she delivered a show-stopping Super Bowl performance, where she also announced her second pregnancy.

These achievements earned Rihanna the #76 spot on Forbes’ Top 100 Most Powerful Women list. Riri always finds a way to stay relevant—even when it’s not through music.
