Recently, the singer and actress made a significant move by clearing out all her Instagram posts –a common practice among artists, marking the beginning of a new stage in their musical career, and often accompanied by personal changes.
What’s interesting is that Belinda didn’t delete her content randomly. She chose to do this shortly after the celebration of «World Belinda Day» on January 10th. She explained the reason behind this decision on a Latin American TV program, “It’s all about starting over, entering a new phase, andleaving behind everything from the past, especially the painful memories. It’s like a rebirth, much like the mythical phoenix, rising from past challenges and growing stronger.”
Rebirth, Grow & Bloom
On January 17th, the «Amor a Primera Vista» singer posted an image of a desert landscape and included the hashtag ‘rebirth.’ A couple of days later, she uploaded another picture with the same backdrop, but this time with a small cactus sprouting in the middle. She used the hashtag ‘grow.’ One day later, to complete this sequence of images, she shared the last one featuring a mature cactus with the hashtag ‘bloom’.
A few days ago, Belinda shared a mysterious video featuring a goat, and herself dressed in a sexy cowboy outfit. Finally, in her latest post, she announced her upcoming song «Cactus,» which is scheduled for release on January 31st. In this video, several men can be seen listening to the radio and reading a newspaper that announces the search for the singer, with a reward offered for her capture. The video has a Western vibe with a dark twist, showing the singer on the run while a voice advises, “Don’t look her in the eyes”…
Is It a Song Aimed at Nodal?
Belinda and Christian Nodal were in a romantic relationship that lasted for three years, and they even became engaged. However, their engagement never happened, and their breakup wasn’t friendly at all.
Many internet users have speculated that her upcoming song might be directed towards her ex, especially given the shift in her musical style towards regional Mexican, a genre that Nodal specializes in. They’ve also drawn connections between the goat in the video and Nodal’s zodiac sign, which happens to be Capricorn. The cactus, too, seems to be significant, considering Nodal’s frequent use of the cactus emoji, and its association with his birthplace, Sonora –a desert region known for its iconic cacti.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that Belinda changed her profile picture to one of her eyes, which bears a striking resemblance to a tattoo that Nodal did in her honor and later covered up.
