Ariana Grande‘s return to the music scene has been highly anticipated, especially after her last album, Positions, released in 2020. She’s now making a remarkable comeback with her upcoming album, Eternal Sunshine, which is already creating quite a buzz for the year 2024.

To give us a taste of what’s to come, Ariana Grande released the album’s first single, yes, and?, on Friday, January 12th. This track serves as a perfect introduction to her new musical era. In producing this song, Grande has reunited with Illya and Max Martin, paying homage to the pop sound of the early ’90s. Even the music video is filled with references to Paula Abdul’s «Cold Hearted.»

Now, the big question on everyone’s mind was the album’s release date. Grande, who has become one of the most influential women in the music industry, has finally revealed that her seventh studio album, Eternal Sunshine, will be released on Friday, March 8. What’s worth highlighting is that she has chosen International Women’s Day for the album’s release —a meaningful decision for an artist known for hits like «God is a Woman.»

Album Covers

Along with announcing the release date, Ariana Grande has also shared the album’s three different covers with her millions of followers. The first image, used for her single «yes, and?,» features a close-up of Ariana Grande with her lips painted in red, divided in half.

The second and third images are entirely new. In these visuals, the artist is seen wearing see-through red gloves and a white blouse. In one of these images, Ariana is smiling at the camera with her eyes closed, while in the other, she hides her face with her hands —a gesture that may remind fans of her «yes, and?» music video, offering a subtle hint of what’s to come.

Behind the Album’s Name

It’s becoming quite evident that Ariana Grande’s upcoming album will bear the title Eternal Sunshine, paying homage to the 2004 film starring Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet, ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.’

Ariana Grande dropped a subtle hint via her secondary account, ‘Sweetener’. She shared a poem by the 17th-century poet Alexander Pope, inspired by a medieval love story known as ‘Eloisa to Abelard.’
