The Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid, Spain, welcomed over 80,000 people on the evening of Saturday, June 13, for an event featuring more than eight hours of music, boxing matches, and live streaming. Ibai Llanos and his team made history once again with the fourth edition of ‘El Evento del Año 4,’ making it the most-watched show on Twitch, drawing over three million viewers.

Such a grand event deserved a memorable finale. Ibai entrusted this to Anuel AA, who was anticipated to be one of the most awaited international artists. However, his arrival was met with disapproval from the audience, who greeted him with boos and sparse applause. Eight minutes into his performance, the singer chose to leave the stage, citing an issue: “I couldn’t deliver a worthy performance,” he regretfully stated.

What happened? One possible reason could be what happened during the chorus of «Más Rica Que Ayer,» where we heard Anuel’s voice sounding a bit off-key. Within hours, the video went viral and even Ibai shared it on his social media.

Anuel’s Response

Following the event, and in light of Ibai’s comments about waiting over an hour for Anuel during the live show, the singer didn’t stay silent. He spoke out about his side of the story in a live session on Instagram.

“About a hundred thousand things came up,” he began, referring to the unexpected challenges he faced trying to get from Santander to Madrid after performing at the Reggaeton Beach Festival. “Half of my team couldn’t fly out. The DJ was already there but couldn’t set up, the person supposed to handle vocals and music.» He explained, claiming that the voice heard live wasn’t his own but a result of manipulation by Ibai’s sound team: “Those guys know exactly what they did with the system, the vocals, and what was broadcast on television. Ibai and his team have control over all of that.”

Ibai had to extend the show by nearly half an hour because Anuel was late, although the singer argued in his livestream that it was only five minutes: “When I went on stage, they were teasing me about being late, making everyone cheer as if I had arrived very late. I was just five minutes behind,” he said.

Social Media Response

Some users on X admitted that Anuel not only arrived late for The Event, but he also showed up two hours late for his show in Santander: “You had two performances that day, and you were two hours late for the first one, which made you late for the second,” one follower commented.

The finale of the fourth Spanish boxing event streamed online had its ups and downs. However, Ibai has already assured everyone that he has everything planned out for an amazing conclusion in the fifth edition. “I’ll make it worth your while,” he promised on X.
