The last events following the latest music announcement of Anitta on social media have been quite unexpected. The Brazilian diva unleashed this week the upcoming release of ‘Aceita,’ one of the singles included in her recent album Funk Generation. However, her fan’s reaction has been, to say the least, surprising.
It was she herself who discovered what happened to her entire audience, reporting it on social networks and making us participate in this curiosity. And by the way, leaving a little message to the more than 100,000 followers who in recent days have stopped following her on her Instagram account.
“I lost 100k followers after announcing the music video in which I’m going to show my religion. Laroye Exu taking away from me everything that no longer serves me. In this new stage, I chose quality and not quantity”, wrote Anitta, posting a screenshot of her follower count.

Anitta thus puts the focus on the reason why all these users (or maybe ‘boots’) unfollowed her. For the Brazilian singer, the fact of opening up about her religious beliefs caused all those followers to flee on the platform. Although given what we’ve seen, it doesn’t seem like she’s going to miss them.
Even though we’ve already seen the ‘Bellakeo’ singer in an infinity of choreographies, dances and situations in front of the cameras… we had never delved into such a personal circumstance of her life as her way of living her religion with the teachings of orishas, etc.
In fact, the first sequences of the black and white music video are very powefull, where we can see an unclothed Anitta set to be baptized or depurative rithual.

After several intense years in the industry, without really having a brilliant promotional strategy that forced her to leave her former label, and overcoming a serious illness, the Brazilian artist is determined to be more vindictive than ever. And that’s why we will be able to watch her ‘Aceita’ music video very soon, on May 15.
We already know that Brazilian funk is in fashion and Anitta has a lot to do with that. Her last LP, as well as the popular music from her country, have greatly helped export one Brazil’s signature styles. “My new project is very special because it signifies my intention of creating an international funk album, something I always dreamed of. Is very gratifying to see that funk is now a source of inspiration and art in the music global scene, a genre with values, awards and admiration,” she stated after releasing her latest studio work.
