Ángela Aguilar has been in the spotlight a lot over the past few months, but unfortunately, not all the attention has been positive. Most of the controversy started with her relationship with Christian Nodal. For context, Nodal had a relationship with Cazzu, with whom he shares a daughter, Inti. Their breakup was pretty sudden, and as a result, Ángela found herself caught up in all the media drama.
Because of this, the online hate and boos at events haven’t stopped, and it seems like the Aguilar family has had enough. According to recent reports, Pepe Aguilar is seriously thinking about stopping performances in Mexico with Ángela and Leonardo Aguilar, due to the constant rejection they’ve faced lately.
The tipping point was at the Kids’ Choice Awards, where Ángela was booed, and people even shouted ‘Cazzu’ at her while she was about to perform. This incident shocked Ángela and also upset her father, who quickly came to her defense: “We’re seriously considering taking a break from performing in Mexico for a while… what’s happening at these events is unacceptable and would never happen in other countries.”
However, Pepe Aguilar’s comments only stirred things up more on social media. Some fans agreed with him, even suggesting that the family should stop performing in Mexico, while others defended their musical legacy. Pepe didn’t hold back and made it clear that his children are respectful, well-trained musicians.
However, he expressed disappointment that they aren’t receiving the respect they deserve, despite their efforts to honor Mexican music. “My children are good people, they’re musically trained, and they really respect their audience. But they’re not being respected, and neither am I. So, for now, we’ll be touring in other countries. Too bad, you’re the ones missing out,” Pepe expressed.
It’s not clear if this decision will be permanent, but it’s clear that the Aguilar family is considering big changes to their plans. Meanwhile, the rumors about their potential break from Mexican stages keep growing. Do you think they’ll take a break for a while?
