They’re finally here. The nominations for the 2024 Oscars took their time, but the complete list of films and professionals vying for the most coveted award in Hollywood has finally been revealed. And, of course, there have been both eagerly awaited presences and genuine surprises.

These awards seem to mark the culmination of the Barbieheimer phenomenon, especially because both films appear in multiple categories. But they are not the only ones: there have been other titles that have shown that 2023 was a year loaded with good cinema; in fact, people were already expecting a tough competition from the Academy even before announcing the nominations.
