Billboard Women in Music is a yearly event organized by Billboard. The main award, known as ‘Woman of the Year,’ is established to recognize “women in the music industry who have made significant contributions to the business and who, through their work and continued success, inspire generations of women to take on increasing responsibilities within the field,” as stated by the magazine.
This year, the event is scheduled for Wednesday, March 6th, at the YouTube Theatre in Hollywood Park, Inglewood, Los Angeles. The ceremony will be streamed online on March 7th. Tracee Ellis Ross will serve as the host, and as is customary every year, there will be musical performances and tributes to influential women who are making a significant impact on the music industry.
We could not be more excited to celebrate these inspiring and dynamic artists from around the world, as they move our culture forward and inspire women everywhere to push boundaries and pursue their own dreams,” Billboard’s editorial director, Hannah Karp, expressed in a statement.
