Not Rosalía, Quevedo, nor Enrique Iglesias – the honor goes to Iñigo Quintero. The Spanish artist, who has become the musical sensation of the moment thanks to the incredible success of his song «Si No Estás,» has just claimed the top position on the list of the most streamed songs in the world on Spotify Global Top 50. His track has managed to surpass Tate McRae’s «Greedy,» Jung Kook’s «Seven,» and even the famous Bad Bunny with «Monaco.»
In this way, Iñigo Quintero, a promising young talent from Galicia (Spain), who was a complete unknown just four weeks ago, now has the most listened-to song in the world. It’s truly a frenzy. The craze for this track started on TikTok last September when the song’s sound began to go viral, thanks to users sharing it along with some photos. The growth was exponential, and in less than two months, «Si No Estás» has accumulated over 130 million streams, while Iñigo Quintero boasts 19 million Monthly Listeners on Spotify, all thanks to this song.
Iñigo Quintero’s achievement is historic. He’s the first Spaniard to have a solo song reach the worldwide number one spot. No other Spanish artist has accomplished this feat. Quevedo managed it, but it was in collaboration with Bizarrap.

Considering the accolades Iñigo Quintero is racking up, it’s no surprise that Spanish music stars already have him on their radar. Singers like Aitana, Ana Mena, Lola Índigo, or Miki Núñez are already paying attention, as they demonstrated at the nominees’ dinner for the LOS40 Music Awards Santander 2023. It seems like everyone knows the song «Si No Estás.»
Iñigo Quintero hails from A Coruña (Spain), and as we can see from his social media, he has always felt a strong need to tell stories through music. At just 22 years old, Iñigo has already released several singles, such as «Sobredosis» and «Será por ti.» His latest song, released this summer, is «Sin tiempo para bailar,» a collaboration with Javi Chapela.
Quintero went from zero to hero in just one year. In March 2023, he had 30,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, and now he’s hovering around 20 million. The reason behind this meteoric rise, as we already told you, is his song ‘Si No Estás,’ which was released on Spotify in September 2022 but didn’t become popular until a year later.
Although the song appears to be about heartbreak, several social media users have suggested that it contains a religious message. His team has not ruled out this theory and referred, in a statement, to the «online debate» about whether it is «a song dedicated to God» or «a breakup song.»
Indeed, we know little more about this promising young star with a great talent for expressing his feelings through his lyrics. We look forward to hearing more from him soon!
Dreaming high is the power
That they’ve given you from heaven
I don’t know where I’m going
It’s not real
A long time ago, you became one more
And I hate how I am
Full of this poison, and I hear thunder if you’re not here
What have you done to me? Where am I?
A thousand planets suddenly appear to me
This is a hallucination
I want to see your other half
Get away from this city
And infect myself with your way of thinking
I look at the sky and remember
I realize once more
That no moment passes without me thinking of you
This distance is not normal
I’m tired of waiting
Two tickets to love you; I don’t want to see anything else
Impossible, it’s too late
Everything is a mess
This is an obsession
Your few signals don’t work for me
Nothing is like before
I forget who I am
What have you done to me? Where am I?
You’re not straightforward, it’s the same as always
And suddenly, I’m losing my mind
A hundred senseless complexes
Steal your heartbeats and your voice
And I can’t take it anymore
I don’t know where I’m going
It’s not real
A long time ago, you became one more
And I hate how I am
Full of this poison, and I hear thunder if you’re not here
Impossible, it’s too late
Everything is a mess
This is an obsession
Your few signals don’t work for me
Nothing is like before
I forget who I am
