The Name Behind the Success

Her real name is Katerinne Huerta and she was born on October 5, 1997 in Ciudad de México. She studied Law in the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, one of the most pretigious academic institutions in the country.

However, Bellakath’s got interested in the entertaiment indutry. Her path to fame started when she participated in the speed dating reality show ‘Enamorándonos’, which aired on TV Azteca in 2019.

But Katerinne discovered that music was her real passion and wanted to go further. As she earned the category of ‘influencer’ on social media, the Mexican singer released in 2020 songs like ‘La Gata de la Agrícola Oriental’, ‘Cumbiatronik’ and ‘Lluvia de Micheladas’, among others.

From Tik Tok to Stardom

But when her hit ‘Gatita’ hit the platforms, her fame completely exploded on TikTok. Millions of users danced to the lyric «Una gatita que le guste el mambo con todos los malos sale a bellaquear». Her music video accumulated more than 123 million plays on YouTube alone – crazy!

«One time coming out of an event I played a track and started humming, and I came up with a chorus. And I said: no, that’s funny. I told my producer about it and he answered: record it, it’s going to be ‘padre’. […] I must confess that I didn’t have much faith in ‘Gatita’, but it has done very well, thank God. And I’m going to release more reggaeton like that, in that style, because I saw that people liked it», explains the artist in an interview.

Bellakath has always been very transparent on social networks. For example, she shared with her followers a video in which she normalized her breast and buttock lift surgery to show that not everything you see on the Internet is real or natural.
