Thousands of fans were already in the Vaught Hemingway Stadium in Oxford (Mississippi) last night when Morgan Wallen’s concert was canceled. Video boards inside the Ole Miss show displayed an informative message to inform that Wallen had lost his voice and could not play his show.
«Ladies and gentlemen, unfortunately, Morgan has lost his voice and is unable to perform tonight. Therefore, tonight’s show has been canceled. Please make your way safely to the stadium exits. Refunds for tonight’s event will be available at point of purchase,» it could be read on the screens, according to WLBT.

Morgan Wallen himself communicated the decision through his social media accounts, adding some explanations about his health situation:
«After last night’s show I started losing my voice, so I spent the day restig up, talking to my doctor and working through my vocal exercises trying to get better. I really thought I’d be able to take the stage and it kills me to deliver this so close to showtime, but my voice is shot and I’m unable to sing», he wrote in his Instagram stories.
Wallen’s ‘One Night At A Time World Tour’ marks his first-time ever to headline stadiums around the world for multiple nights. In fact, it’s one of the largest tours of the year so far and even the biggest one of Wallen’s career. He’s visiting more than 30 stadiums, amphitheaters and festivals across four countries and two continents.
This incident created a big polemic in social media, where the artist has been criticized for cancelling the show only five minutes before it was supposed to start.
The cancellation of Wallen’s show represent not very good news that ironically come at a time when he has recently made history; he has placed three titles inside the top 10 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart (‘Last Night in No. 8 position, ‘Though You Should Know’ at No.8 and ‘One Thing at a Time at No. 9), becoming the first artist to achieve this milestone since the survey began in January 1990.
Moreover, his number of streams across the US are simply incredible: his album ‘One Thing at a Time‘ has been streamed nearly two billion times in the US since its release, according to the New York Times.

Despite this recent setback, Morgan Wallen is one of the main figures shaking the country scene, and even the music industry. We hope he gets well soon to see him again lighting up the stages!
