Juanes has just premiered his long-awaited album ‘Vida Cotidiana’, a brilliant release that delves into the complex realities of daily life, evolving thoughts on love, marriage, family, and his country, Colombia. The winner of 27 grammys and Latin Grammys continues to return to his essence by fusing pop/rock with Latin American rhythms.
His 11th studio album, now available in digital and CD format, represents the continuation of a new creative cycle, partly resulting from the process of introspection experienced during the pandemic and the overcoming of a personal and family crisis. These experiences lend this new composition profound significance.

In ‘Vida Cotidiana’ we can explore and identify with one of the artist’s most personal releases.
«One of the most difficult things in life are human relationships, but they are also one of the most beautiful. A little over a year ago, I had a very complicated situation with my wife. We have been married for 22 years, we have 3 teenage children and we began to argue about certain ways of thinking, plus the confinement of the COVID. Those were moments of great confusion», he declared on his new drop.
Here, the Colombian artist masterfully transfers to music some of the most widespread and shared problems of adult life, exploring doubt, uncertainty, love, pain, frustration… a brilliant artistic creation that, accompanied by his return to the electric guitar, makes up one of the most acclaimed Latin music albums of the year.

«I think this is my best album as a musician, composer and artist. All my previous experiments are certainly valid, but stepping out of your comfort zone and feeling uncomfortable can be a transformative experience. This new session returns to the places that are closely connected to my essence… the actual sounds and themes that come from deep within my heart and soul”, he states.
Also premiering on Friday, May 19, is the captivating video and single ‘Cecilia’, featuring Latin music legend Juan Luis Guerra. This lovely song is dedicated to Juanes’ wife, Karen Cecilia Martinez.
«I wrote ‘Cecilia’ as a response to another song on the album titled ‘Gris‘, which was the dark side of a situation between my wife and I, and ‘Cecilia’ is about reconciliation. It’s a song that talks about looking into each other’s eyes and recognizing each other still as a couple, overcoming differences and continuing to dance our life together. For me to have Juan Luis Guerra on the song is a great honor, and I’m proud of this incredible musical moment. This is a celebration of my love for Cecilia, of my family, of having been able to work with Juan Luis, and of my love for Caribbean music”, he adds.
The music video, directed by Maria Camila Calle, stars Karen Martinez and the couple’s daughters, Luna and Paloma, during a vacation on the Caribbean coast.
