The celebrated actor stands as one of Hollywood’s major icons a guiding star that consistently captivates countless viewers globally and remains a favorite subject of the tabloid media. Nevertheless, it’s evident that his personal interests take precedence. Could they even potentially lead to new career paths?

He startled the world with news that many took as tragic: his departure from the film industry draws near, or at least that’s the message he conveyed while promoting Bullet Train. Chaos ensued with Babylon, and in the upcoming times, he’s set to unveil Wolves a project reuniting him with George Clooney on screenalongside a Formula 1 movie, for which he honed his skills on an authentic racetrack.

Nevertheless, he still finds time for other curious passions.

Beyond the battle that emerged with Angelina Jolie through the purchase of the French Miraval wineries in 2008—a property that, by the way, became one of the most controversial elements of their divorce the Pitt has raided in music with a potential that could have also earned him a name in the music industry. Precisely because he’s been a part of a place where some of the most famous albums in music history were created.

Brad, the Trendsetting Music Producer

Many believe that Brad would reach the peak of perfection if he were a music artist. While this might be true, his work behind the camera doesn’t confirm it. Nevertheless, there’s a connection: he owns the Miraval studios yes, located on the same vineyard he bought with Angelina.

Founded in 1977 with a history that includes bands like AC/DC, The Cure, Sting, George Michael, or Pink Floyd who famously recorded The Wall thereand which closed down in 2005. In 2022, however, the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star wanted to embrace the project, not only by investing in it but also by redesigning the space with Damien Quintard.

«We wanted to create a space where we could be free, and that’s the maxim we followed: we’re going to make a sanctuary,» Pitt declared to Billboard, a quote that the studios’ official website proudly displays. As for the outcome, it speaks for itself: a modern and open environment that contrasts with the surrounding nature, which is also taken into account when capturing the ‘studio experience.’

Whether he will be involved in the musical creations emerging from there remains uncertain after all, Pitt’s career trajectory hasn’t shown a significant inclination towards music. Nevertheless, his pride in the endeavor that allowed him to rejuvenate one of the most legendary studios of the previous century is unmistakable. However, when it comes to personal goals, Brad’s diverse talents can astonish even the most doubtful observers.

Pitt, ‘Apprentice of Michelangelo’

Okay, perhaps his other hobby doesn’t directly draw from the Renaissance style; yet, it’s connected to sculpture. Because, apart from investing in art as he did with Miraval studios, the actor has gotten his hands dirty on more than one occasion to display his own pieces. And they aren’t few, nor trivial.

They were unveiled to the public in an exhibition in Finland alongside others signed by musician Nick Cave and artist Thomas Houseago, although Pitt’s pieces garnered considerable media attention due to their uniqueness. Some of the most recognizable were his house-shaped models, some made of wood in true Homer Simpson stylewhile others were made of silicone.

But he didn’t stop there. Pitt didn’t want to limit himself or put a cap on his creativity; he also presented works of smaller and larger sizes than those houses. And it’s not that he lacked variety: he presented a set of candleholderswithout any double meaningsjust as much as he presented a huge mural that might offend the sensitivities of more delicate viewers. Translated into his career, it’s the Se7en of his pieces.

«Aiming at you I saw me but it was too late this time,» he presents a plaster mural depicting a shootout between eight figures. The title seems to assign meaning, but the explicitness arrives when you see the blood on the protagonists’ heads.

These aren’t the only works Brad presented, and they probably aren’t the only ones he created. It seems his fascination began in 2017, post-divorce, something that might be seen as an escape mechanism. He’s never confirmed it, although he did tell Finnish media the following:

For me, it’s about self-reflection… It was born from the ownership I call the ‘radical inventory of self.» And being brutally honest with myself considering those I might have hurt and the moments I’ve messed up.”

Everything points to this diversification, whether in music or sculpture, possibly indicating his retirement is near; although his most loyal followers can see it as a way to stay connected to his art, despite taking a different path. Either way, his roles are already immortalized for posterity.
