The rumors that had been flooding social media in recent days have been confirmed: we now know the release date and cover art for 1989 (Taylor’s Version). Just a month after the release of Speak Now (Taylor’s version), which reached our hands on July 7 with six completely new songs, Taylor Swift announced the arrival of her fourth re-recording during her latest concert in Los Angeles.
The solo artist performed for six nights at the City of Stars within the SoFi Stadium for a crowd of over 100,000 people per show. An event only achievable by true music stars. Just before the artist’s arrival in the city, photos posted by the official stadium account on social media directly hinted at the announcement of this new album, which will hit the market and platforms on October 27.
As the days passed and the first concerts were celebrated, the signs of an imminent announcement became clearer. And now we can celebrate. It’s finally here. Taylor Swift announced the arrival of 1989 (Taylor’s Version) before starting her acoustic set, right before singing «New Romantics,» the only song from the album that she hadn’t performed yet during the tour.

«So here we are now, on the last night of The Eras Tour in the United States, in the eighth month of the year, on the ninth day… you might have noticed we’ve unveiled some new outfits during the show… [the crowd’s cheers with each of her sentences showed all the excitement for what was about to happen] and there’s something I’ve been planning for a long, long, long, long time. So I thought I’d just show it to you.»
At that moment, the stage screen lit up with the cover of the new album, featuring Taylor Swift against a blue backdrop, dressed in white with her characteristic red lips, surrounded by seagulls, and the title above her head.
Once the news was announced, her social media was updated with a new post where she commented:
1989 (Taylor’s Version) can now be pre-ordered through her website. And you, are you excited to listen to it? We’ve started counting the days until its release.
