It seems to be the season of breakup season in Hollywood and another very popular couple has just announce their split. That’s what many thought when reading the unexpected statements from Sofía Vergara in Page Six, where she has officially announced her divorce from fellow actor Joe Manganiello after seven years as husband and wife. While the news was conveyed in a joint statement from both stars, the reasons for this split remain unknown.
“We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives,” the couple revealed to Page Six.
In fact, after the news of her husband’s divorce broke, many of her followers’ eyes noticed that in the numerous photos and videos the actress has posted in the last week, her engagement ring is absent from her finger.
A Popular Love Story
The last time the couple was seen in public was a month ago when the actress visited Manganiello’s film set for Nonnas. Their last red carpet appearance was at the Vanity Fair post-Oscar party, where both actors showed affection and radiated warmth towards each other.
While Joe Manganiello has not yet spoken out after the divorce confirmation, one of his last social media posts was from a week ago, on his still-wife’s birthday, featuring a somewhat blurry photo of the couple and a brief accompanying message: «Happy Birthday Sofía!!!»
Sofía Vergara and Joe Manganiello tied the knot in 2015 in a highly-publicized wedding in Palm Beach, Florida, although it was a year earlier when both well-known faces in the Hollywood industry began their relationship. Half a year after they started dating, they were already engaged and have since sparked envy from many guests as they strolled down the red carpet together.
