First it was Billie Eilish, and barely 24 hours later, the second surprise has arrived, completing the final list of songs for the original soundtrack of the Barbie movie: Sam Smith will be part of the repertoire of that album with an unreleased song titled «Man I am»!
The announcement was made through his social media, where he dropped the bomb. Unfortunately, for many of us who will have to bite our nails to calm our nerves until its release, we’ll have to wait until July 21, the movie’s release date, to listen to it.

The news came accompanied by a sort of single cover that shares the classic elements of the movie’s promotion, such as the color pink, Barbie doll stamps, and the typography of the letters. In fact, Sam Smith plays with the S in their name and the B to fully integrate into the pink universe of the popular doll and its film adaptation.
Sam Smith thus joins the names of dozens of established and renowned musicians who have been announcing their own versions or collaborations for the movie’s soundtrack. This includes Dua Lipa, Nicki Minaj, Karol G, Billie Eilish, Haim, The Kid Laroi... even Ryan Gosling is getting in on the action by singing «I’m just Ken» with Slash on the guitar!

With only 10 days left until the worldwide release of Barbie in cinemas, we have a few but very interesting details to discover. First, it will be Billie Eilish’s turn, and then Sam Smith’s, coinciding with the definitive release of the movie and its soundtrack. Moreover, we recently spoke to the protagonist of the movie in Los Angeles premiere!
This is the second song in a short period of time that Sam Smith has presented. A few months ago, they released their most recent studio album, Gloria, but since then, they have already released a duet with Madonna and promised this song for Barbie, an electronic hit with Calvin Harris called «Desire,» and an explosive collaboration on Anitta’s new album.
