Rosalía Breaks Silence After Breakup with Rauw Alejandro

It hasn’t been an easy time for Rosalía and Rauw Alejandro. People magazine announced on Tuesday, July 25, the separation of the couple after three years of being together. The news came as a surprise to their fans, who affectionately called them Rauwsalía. One day later, after numerous rumors, Rauw Alejandro confirmed the news through a statement on his social media.

Now it’s Rosalía’s turn. The Catalan singer has spoken for the first time about the breakup with a brief statement on her Instagram. She needed only a few words to put an end to the matter and ask for respect for her ex-partner and herself:

The Announcement of Their Engagement

The couple revealed their engagement last March through the music video for «BESO.» One of the three songs in their EP «RR.» This work was a gift for the couple’s followers, who had been asking for this joint collaboration for years. In the songs «BESO,» «Vampiros,» and «Promesa,» Rosalía and Rauw Alejandro talked about their past, present, and future in the relationship.

In the «Beso» music video, fans were pleasantly surprised at the end. After seeing different mobile phone recordings of the couple throughout their relationship, we see Rosalía crying after receiving an engagement ring. In fact, during that same ceremony, Rosalía presented the award for Best Song of the Year to Rauw Alejandro for «Todo de ti.»

Rauw’s Statement

Although People magazine had already reported it a day earlier, on Thursday, July 26, Rauw Alejandro decided to break his silence about the breakup with Rosalía after social media was flooded with theories pointing to a possible infidelity on his part towards the Catalan singer.

The singer of «Saturno» posted a story on his Instagram account in which, in addition to confirming that his engagement with Rosalía had ended, he detailed that their relationship had actually ended some time ago. However, he assured that his relationship with the author of «Motomami» had been the most real one he had experienced to date and that, out of respect for that, he had decided to speak up.
