In anticipation of an eagerly awaited reunion tour and following the success of their sold-out «Soy Rebelde Tour,» the acclaimed Latin pop group RBD has released a new single titled «Cerquita De Ti.»
The song marks the RBD’s return to original music, the first since 2020’s «S.H.E.A.,» which received an update in February featuring vocals from Dulce María.
«Cerquita De Ti» pays a heartfelt serenade to the loyal fans who have stood by them throughout their journey. This track perfectly combines the essence of modern-day Latin pop with the vibrant rhythms of Dominican dembow, resulting in a unique musical blend with a slight touch of reggaeton.
The track was produced by Manuel Lara, known for his contributions to works by artists like Kali Uchis, Bad Bunny, and Rauw Alejandro. The writing credits include Manuel Lara, RBD’s Christopher Von Uckermann, Pambo, Nicole Horts, and Ben Aler.
It’s worth noting that this is not the first time RBD incorporates reggaeton-infused sounds in their songs. In 2006, the band featured in Luny Tunes and Tainy’s compilation «Mas Flow: Los Benjamins» with the perreo hit «Lento.» Later that same year, they once again collaborated with Luny Tunes for «Money Money.»
Let yourself be seen
Missing you was so natural
I can understand you
And crying is very normal
Time has passed
But I love you just the same
The love I feel
Is growing and doesn’t fade
Even if we’re far apart
And you feel sad
You know, I’ll always be close to you
Until we grow old
Don’t forget
You know, I’ll always be close to you
Close to you x4
How beautiful that we found each other
Even more beautiful if we hug
No one believed in us, but we made it
It’s been difficult, but here we are
How beautiful that we found each other
Even more beautiful if we hug
No one believed in us, but we made it
It’s been difficult, but here we are
The love I feel is growing and doesn’t fade
Even if we’re far apart
And you feel sad
You know, I’ll always be close to you
Until we grow old
Don’t forget
You know, I’ll always be close to you
Close to you
If what you feel is real
The ending will never be the end
Never forget
Never forget
Let’s not forget that the ‘Rebelde,’ (the Mexican telenovela) became a cultural phenomenon back in 2004, and transcended cultural boundaries captivating audiences not just in Mexico and Latin America but also throughout Europe and Asia.

A distinctive aspect of ‘Rebelde’ was its integration of music. The show introduced RBD, a fictional music group comprising the main cast, which later translated into a highly successful real-life music career that remains vibrant to this day. Their albums achieved massive commercial success, dominating charts not just in Latin America but also in countries like Spain and the US.
Commencing on August 25th, the Soy Rebelde Tour will begin at the Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, TX. In the next months, RBD is scheduled to grace stadiums in the US, Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia with their performances. Remarkably, a significant number of these shows witnessed instant sell-outs.
Doing this [tour] is our way of ending this cycle and thanking our fans, who after years, continue to listen to the music. We want to allow new generations, who never went to the shows, to see us perform” –Christian von Uckermann previously told Rolling Stone.
