“El dolor poco a poco se fue borrando / Tú y yo / Nuestra historia se ha terminado”. This is how ‘Bye’, the latest single of international regional Mexican sensation Peso Pluma starts. The hitmaker opens his heart through melancholic verses that refer to a love story that has ended between pain and longing. An emotional breakup song that, truth be told, it’s very very different from the Shakira and Karol G hits we’ve seen previously.
Although this is one of his most sincere songs of the artist, it’s not the first time we see ‘Doble P’ in this register: he already transmitted his sensibility in ‘Por Las Noches‘ (which he would later cover again with urban star Nicki Nicole) and also in ‘Chanel’ with Becky G.
‘Bye’ encapsulates a unique sensibility combined with the exhilarating style of corridos tumbados, a genre that Peso Pluma and Natanael Cano have been responsible for greatly popularizing inside and outside the United States. ‘Bye’ is now available on all platforms.
Peso Pluma continues to pave his way forward as an artist and entrepreneur in the music industry. Last month he launched his independent record label ‘Doble P Records’ in a joint venture with Prajin Parlay Inc, establishing a new creative hub for emerging artists.
This latest release comes on the heels of a string of recent hits, such as his latest drop, ’77’ with veteran reggaeton artist Eladio Carrión. He also recently made his debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The Mexican continues to break records, currently reigning at number one on the Billboard Global 200 chart with ‘Ella Baila Sola’, featuring Eslabón Armado. In addition to claiming the top spot, he has an impressive total of eight other tracks on the Billboard Global 200 chart, including collaborations such as ‘La Bebé’ with Yng Lvcas, ‘Por Las Noche’ featuring Nicki Nicole, ‘PRC’ alongside Natanael Cano, and ‘AMG’ with Natanael Cano and Gabito Ballesteros, among others.
