Regional Mexican music is experiencing great success across the US, but also worldwide. Proof of this is the incredible rise to stardom of Peso Pluma, the Mexican artist blanketing all charts a nd accumulating more than 44 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Now he presents this new collab with Eladio Carrión, ‘77’, releasing a music video that celebrates luxury, forbidden pleasures and excesses. With this song, both hitmaker prove once again that traditional music is in one of the best moments in recent years.
On the other hand, Eladio is going through one of the best moments of his career. He recently released an album under the name 3MEN2 KBRN. A project with which he surprised the whole planet due to its collabs with the most important artists of the urban genre: Lil Wayne, Future, 50 Cent, Bad Bunny or Quavo, among others. The Puerto Rican already accumulates amost 24 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
If these two artists are incredible on their own, making this ‘junte’ could only go better. ’77’ is a regional Mexican song, a corrido but with characteristic lyrics of the urban genre. In fact, Eladio stepped slightly out of his comfort zone to get this sound. As for the lyrics, both artists’ parts follow the same thematic line. Peso Pluma starts the song with this force:
Voy cruzando
jale blanco.
Los mafiosos y los cholos son aliado’,
77,
voy mentado.
Y en la capi
o en GDL ruleteando
Y en el low-low
voy gastando
Pacas verdes,
los Rolexes
voy pillando
Y el trabajo
va parado Peso Pluma
In this verseS, Peso Pluma makes constant references to Mexico, mentioning various cities in the country such as Tijuana (TJ) or Guadalajara (GDL). He also mentions the mafias and cholos, which are youth movements in the north of the country. To all these references he adds vice, ostentation and luxury as the main form of leisure.

As for Eladio’s verse, he even names luxury cars such as the Maybach and the consumption of Marijuana: «Marihuana super saiyajin, fumando Vegeta», to continue he honors the song La Jeepeta by Nio García, Brray, Juanka, Anuel AA and Myke Towers.
doble tono la Roleta
Doble tono el Maybach,
doble tono la glopeta
Marihuana super saiyajin,
fumando Vegeta
Como Brray arrebata’o
dando vuelta’ en la Jeepeta
Yo,
no llamo la conexión,
si la cone soy yo,
No tengo que confiar en nadie
si tengo mi Glock
No tengo miedo,
hace tiempo se engavetó Eladio Carrión
With this song, they perfectly fuse the characteristic thematic of reggaeton and trap songs with the melodic and soft music of regional Mexican music. This, along with the innate cohesion of the voices of both artists, it’s what makes this song so special.
