Although many thought Daddy Yankee was going to retire immediately, he has been delighting us with new songs. Many of them have been collaborations, and one of those who has accompanied him is Omar Courtz. The young Puerto Rican artist joins the genre legend in ‘BEACHY’, an afrobeat song that becomes a candidate for the Song of the Summer in 2023.

But who is Omar Courtz, the artist who has conquered Daddy Yankee? He also captivated Bad Bunny, as a few days ago he shared an Instagram Stories indicating that he was listening to one of the young artist’s songs. Let us introduce you:

Omar Courtz was born on the island of Carolina, Puerto Rico, in 1997. Music has been his greatest passion, and that’s why he got to work on composing his own projects. In 2018, he released ‘Rosas Negras‘, and two years later, in 2020, his song ‘En Su Nota’ went viral on TikTok. So much so that it made it onto the list of the 50 most viral songs in seven countries.

Omar’s talent reached Pitbull, who signed him to his record label that same year. Then, Omar’s talent expands and reaches many other ears, including those of some artists and influencers in the music industry. One of them is Daddy Yankee, who, completely conquered by his voice, signs him for the bonus track of Legendaddy. But their relationship hides a beautiful story behind it. As the ‘Gasolina’ interpreter revealed on social media, his first encounter with Omar was 15 years ago. . These beautiful words are his way of presenting the artist more personally to all his fans:

«I first met Omar Courtz in a Mini Daddy Yankee contest on the program No te duermas in Puerto Rico. 15 years later, we recorded the song ‘Beachy’ together. One more proof that dreams and goals come true. Now, let’s enjoy the summer with ‘Beachy’ on behalf of all those dreamers in the world».Daddy Yankee on Instagram

Yankee and Benito haven’t been the only ones to fall in love with his talent. Darell and Miky Woodz have also trusted his music to collaborate with him.

Now Omar is putting the finishing touches on his EP La Musa with the confidence and security of having become one of the biggest promises in the reggaeton scene. And not only that, but he does it under the patronage of the king of the genre!
