Myke Towers has revolutionized social media in the last few days after his catchy song «LALA» went viral on TikTok. Fans from all around the globe were strongly asking what the meaning of the sensual lyrics was, and, of course, that’s why we decided to ask him directly. But the big news now is that the Puerto Rican artist shoots to the No. 1 position on Lista Los40 USA with this great hit, which is part of his latest album La Vida Es Una!

“LALA” is, without a doubt, one of the top songs of the summer that we will be playing and replaying through hot beachy nights, but it’s not the only one. Spanish reggaeton rising star Quevedo recently dropped a summer love-themed ballad titled “Columbia”. The song narrates a story of attraction that develops when he meets a girl while on vacation at a nightclub. A situation that we can all easily identify with thanks to all the magic vibes that come with this season.

The title of the song refers to the name of the university where Quevedo’s crush studied before heading to the Canary Islands to have a wonderful holiday. Moreover, “Columbia” enters this week directly at #31 on Lista Los40 USA!

The final addition to our chart this week is courtesy of Tainy and one of the highly anticipated anthems that came with the launch of his debut album ‘DATA’. None other than one of the biggest collaborations of the year, «PASIEMPRE,« featuring urban world stars Myke Towers, Jhayco, Omar Courtz, ARCA, and Bad Bunny.

The Leadership of Música Mexicana

Several hits by well-known Mexican artists occupy the top positions on our Lista Los40 USA, with the outstanding presence of Peso Pluma, the artist with the most songs on our chart: 13, including the ballad “Bye,” the dembow “PLEBADA” with El Alfa and the Mexican reggaeton anthem “La Bebé – Remix” featuring Yng Lvcas!

His collaboration with Junior H, “El Azul,” and the viral “Ella Baila Sola” with Eslabón Armado complete the Top 3, together with Towers’ “LALA”, in the second and third positions, respectively.

The current ranking in our LOS40 USA List shows the dynamics and musical and cultural changes that are taking place on a large scale both in our country and in different parts of the world. The triumph and globalization of Latin music as we have never seen it reach the top of the music charts, creating new references and strengthening a greater representation in the industry.

Two currents are now leading this new stage of change: on the one hand, Música Mexicana (fighting for a deserved renown beyond Regional Mexican) and on the other hand, the urban genre with the strong presence of reggaeton and trap music.
