«No sé por qué te celo si tú no eres na’ mío», ask Myke Towers and J Balvin in their new collaboration, ‘Celos’. Here the two urban stars bring to the table a feeling that seemed forgotten in the 21st century, the result of insecurity and lack of communication.
In this song, they trade verses about their secret relationship with a woman, which has no labels of any kind, so everyone can do whatever they want with whomever they want. However, jealousy takes over the singers, when they imagine the girl with a third person. «Si estás con alguien más, yo me pregunto y me imagino», the song goes.
With dark tones and cool undertones that fit the crisp, icy New York’s feel, Towers and Balvin confidently indulge in their powerful wordplay, feeding off each other’s energies.
The track, which is accompanied by a music video directed by Andy Hynes and produced by Anca Productions, is included in La vida es una, Myke Towers’ recent studio album. ‘Celos’ is just one of the five collaborations that make up this album, joining other voices like Daddy Yankee, Ozuna, Arcángel and Chita.
On J Balvin’s part, it’s the third featuring he has released this year. Little by little, and keeping a low profile for more than a year -he is barely active on social networks or promoting his latest releases-, the Medellín native is reintroducing himself to the music scene with other artists: ‘Uno Dos Tres Remix’ with Kap G and’Rollercoaster’ with Burna Boy. His last album, Jose, dates back to 2021. Will we see a new J Balvin album in 2023?
