Although the MTV Movie & TV Awards 2023 faced several obstacles due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike (including Drew Barrymore stepping down as the main host and the substitution of a live event by a pre-taped version of the ceremony), some of the most popular movies and series stars could receive their golden popcorn statuettes on Sunday.
‘Stranger Things’, ‘The Last of Us’, ‘The White Lotus’, ‘Wednesday’ and ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ lead the nominations amidst the scripted content. In the unscripted categories we could find shows like the iconics ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’, ‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation’, ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ and ‘Vanderpump Rules’. Finally the popular ‘The Last of Us’ and ‘Scream VI’ took home the top honors.
Pedro Pascal, Jenna Ortega and Jennifer Coolidge (who also got the Comedic Genius Award) were some of the big winners of the night. Tom Cruise even delivered one of the best moments accepting his prize while piloting a jet. See the complete list of winners below!
