We know the signs. And when an artist decides to completely overhaul their social media, it usually means something big is on the way. Miley Cyrus has released a brief teaser on her social media and given her platform a new look with black-and-white photos accompanied by the text «Used to be young,» which could potentially be the title of her new song.
The American solo artist has kicked off a new campaign that has also been visible on the streets of some of the world’s major cities. Multiple posters of the singer have appeared, all carrying the same slogan, but with lyrics from some of her global hits («The Climb,» «Wrecking Ball,» «Flowers,» «Party in the USA»…): «I came in like a wrecking ball» or «I can buy myself flowers,» among others.
Without needing many more hints, everyone has understood that we’re in for a new musical offering from the popular diva. However, upon inspecting the tracklist of Endless Summer Vacation, her most recent album project, no song bears that title. And therein lies the crux of the matter: the song was left out of the album by Miley’s own decision.

This was confirmed by her sister Brandi Cyrus on the My Favorite Thing podcast when she stated that her «favorite song from ESV» was left off the album and would see the light of day later. Several months have passed since Miley Cyrus conquered the charts with her latest album, and it seems that the time has come for «Used To Be Young,» a track produced by Mike Will Made It.
An upcoming track that Miley spoke about during her interview for the cover of Vogue magazine in May, it references her evolution and the loss of youth that has changed her personality, her sound… Essentially, a maturity that has only served to enhance the performer even more.
«I know I used to be crazy. I know I used to be fun. You say I used to be wild. I say I used to be young,» it seems will be part of the song’s lyrics.
As of now, the American singer has not officially confirmed whether it’s a new song or when the release might happen if it is. But as is often the case with such teasers, the release of «Used To Be Young» could be just around the corner. We are eager to enjoy it as soon as possible.
