The Queen of Pop desires to share the stage once again with the Princess of Pop. Madonna was set to kick off her Celebration World Tour in Canada on July 15, but three weeks prior, her manager Guy Oseary announced that she had been taken to the ICU and intubated due to a «severe bacterial infection,» disrupting those plans and causing significant concern.

After the initial scare, good news followed, and it seems that the seven-time Grammy winner is recovering swiftly. Just a few days ago, she announced her return and confirmed the dates for her European tour, which remain unchanged, starting in London on October 14, but nearly all the dates for the subsequent North American tour have been rescheduled. This tour will now commence on December 13 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The megastar, who turned 65 on August 16, claims to be ready to embark on the ambitious worldwide tour that will cover four decades of major hits. According to Page Six, Madonna wants Britney Spears to appear at one of her five Los Angeles dates in March 2024. This is to mark the 20th anniversary of their successful collaboration, «Me Against the Music,» which was released in October 2003.

“Madonna originally wanted Britney to join her on tour this year,” a source notes. “Everything was pushed back because of her illness, but she still wants Britney to join her at the Kia Forum.”

The two artists have been friends for many years, and most likely, we all remember the iconic kiss between the Queen and the Princess of Pop at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards. It occurred during Madonna’s performance of the song «Like a Virgin» alongside (her then potential successor) Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. Anticipation is high as Madonna released her latest album, Madame X, in 2019, and she has only rarely taken the stage since the beginning of the pandemic. She performed in Medellín in honor of Maluma and appeared at the Pride event in New York, although she hasn’t been inactive.

On the other hand, Britney, who gained her freedom on September 30, 2021, after 13 years under a strict legal conservatorship led by her father, James Jamie Spears, hasn’t performed in public since October 2018.
