According to various reports, Madonna has been progressing favorably, and since yesterday, she is recovering at her home in New York. «She is doing better,» several media outlets reported.

People magazine published that the pop star «has returned home and is doing better,» while CNN detailed that she has been «discharged» and left the hospital in a private ambulance, information in both cases conveyed by close sources. Meanwhile, Page Six has confirmed that there is a security guard outside the artist’s house in the upscale Upper East Side neighborhood of Manhattan, where two of her children were photographed visiting yesterday.

According to this publication, the singer was found unconscious at her home last Saturday and was transported to the hospital, where she had to be intubated for at least one night due to the severity of her condition, but the mechanical breathing assistance was later removed. Her oldest of six children, 26-year-old Lourdes León, has been by her side throughout the ordeal. This early morning, numerous photographers were on guard outside the residence where Madonna is supposed to be, but none have managed to capture an image of her so far.

Her Manager Provides an Update

Madonna’s health status has made headlines worldwide since her manager, Guy Oseary, announced the situation on social media last Wednesday, without providing specific details about the pop diva’s illness.

«Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several day stay in the ICU,» Oseary stated. «Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected,» added Oseary, who announced a pause in all of the artist’s commitments, including her highly anticipated Celebration tour, which was set to begin soon.

With this world tour, the singer was going to travel to many parts of the world to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the album that propelled her to fame, ‘Holiday.’ The tour consisted of 84 concerts starting on July 15 in Vancouver, Canada, and including cities like New York, Los Angeles, Miami, London, Paris and Barcelona on November 1 and 2. As we mentioned, these professional commitments have been put on hold for now: «We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new tour start date and rescheduled concerts,» announced her manager.

Four days before heading to the hospital on June 20, Madonna shared several details of her tour rehearsals on Instagram. «The calm before the storm,» she wrote, without imagining that shortly after, she would contract a severe infection and end up hospitalized.
