The former member of One Direction, Liam Payne, who turns 30 today, communicated through his social networks that he will be postponing his Latin America tour that was supposed to begin on September 1 in Peru, and continue through Colombia, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, ending on September 12 in Mexico City.
The singer didn’t provide much detail about the reason behind the tour cancellation but mentioned that it was due to health concerns. Specifically, he mentioned a serious kidney infection that required hospitalization.
“It’s with a heavy heart I have to tell you that we have no other choice but to postpone my upcoming tour of South America,” Payne expressed. “Over the past week I’ve been in hospital with a serious kidney infection, it’s something I wouldn’t wish on anyone, and doctors orders are that I now need to rest and recover.”
He also mentioned how excited he was about the show and how sorry he is for all his fans who bought tickets. Currently, Payne’s team is working to reschedule the tour as soon as possible, but they will be refunding the tickets.

Liam’s Musical Journey
Liam Payne, who hasn’t released a full album since 2019’s LP1, is gearing up for a comeback in the music scene. In a May interview with iFL TV, he shared his excitement about this musical venture, stating, «I’ve been making an album for a change, which is quite fun. It’s been good, I’m excited to bring it out, and I definitely want to tour this time, which is unusual. Because, I wasn’t sure I was going to tour for a long time. I was kind of over it a little bit, but I’m really excited to get back out on the road and go and see all the fans. It’s gonna be fun.»
Payne gained international spotlight as a member of One Direction, a role he held from 2010 until the band’s indefinite break in January 2016. During his time with the group, they embarked on four world tours, including two all-stadium tours that accumulated massive fan followings.
Apart from his solo album LP1, Payne ventured into collab projects. In 2020, he partnered with Alesso for an EP titled Midnight Hour. Additionally, he released a single titled «Sunshine» in 2021, which was featured in the soundtrack of the animated film Ron’s Gone Wrong.
Hopefully, Liam recovers soon and continues his plans in the music industry, as fans anticipate his return to the stage.
