Thus, the Latin Grammys 2023 already have their first great protagonist: Laura Pausini. The multilingual singer has not only left her mark with her music, but also with her support for various social justice causes: from equality for women and LGTBIQ+ community to her fight against world hunger.

«Laura Pausini is one of the most talented and beloved artists of her generation whose commitment to great causes is exemplary», said Manuel Abud, CEO of The Latin Recording Academy. «Throughout her more than three-decade career her extraordinary voice continues to break barriers across languages and genres, captivating audiences around the world».

The Italian artist has already reacted to these wonderful news:

«I’m extremely honored to receive this incredible recognition from The Latin Recording Academy. To be named Person of the Year at this moment when I’m celebrating 30 years of career is something that I still can not describe, I can only feel a deep gratitude for The Latin Academy and its members, for my colleagues who have always welcomed me with open arms, but above all, for my beloved audience that has made a dream born in my hometown in Italy a beautiful reality, and that has taken me to places I never dreamed in life I would reach with my music.

The Spanish language has opened doors for me since I was very young, it has made me feel at home, it has inspired me to move forward and to explore and live music without barriers or limits. To say today that I will receive this important recognition fills me with great pride, joy, strength to continue taking strong steps and to inspire the new generation of artists who enhance the music they carry in their hearts. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I’m very excited. See you very soon in Seville”Laura Pausini

It’s worth remembering that the upcoming edition of the Latin Grammy Awards will be held in Seville on November 16 at the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones. A very special date for the awards. And it is the first time that these awards leave the United States.
